Best Roomba Robot Vacuums and Mopses

The Dreamebot Braava Jet m6 is a powerful robot that can mop and vacuum without soaking your rugs. The robot is equipped with advanced mapping that is similar to the iRobot s9 or i7+. It can save a cleaning schedule that you can modify.

IRobot the i1

The iRobot i1 Robot Vacuum Mops vacuum also mops. It can be controlled through the iRobot app or via voice commands using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. It's less expensive than the premium Roomba versions, such as the i8+ and j7+. It has many of the same features, but isn't equipped with the advanced navigation feature.

It does a good job cleaning bare floors but not so well on carpeting. It is a fantastic cleaner on laminate flooring and tile, though, and it has a unique cleaning head designed to fit into corners. It can be programmed to clean specific areas or rooms in your home. It also permits you to set virtual boundaries to stop it from gaining access to areas you don't wish it to.

The i1 is also compatible with a self-emptying dirt container which allows you to avoid manually emptying its trash each time it's running out of room. It's relatively easy to maintain, though you must empty out its brushes every week. The vSLAM navigation system uses cameras instead laser sensors. This means that it takes longer to map rooms and does not detect furniture like the more expensive Roomba model.

If you have a problem with your iRobot, the manufacturer provides free replacement parts and other support for one year if you sign-up for its iRobot Select membership. The plan comes with a few limitations. It does not cover theft, mysterious disappearance or misplacement.

iRobot i7+

The i7+ is more impressive than the Roomba at cleaning a floor. Whereas the more affordable Roomba 690 and Eufy RoboVac 11s bounce around like ballerinas and bounce from one end of the room to the next and sometimes slipping under furniture The i7+ functions in a logical, methodical manner. It begins by vacuuming in a row along the floor before moving towards the edges of the room. If it's out of battery or its dirt bin is full, it pauses and returns to the place it stopped when it's recharged. It also maintains a persistent map of a room. This means that if you alter the layout or move furniture the i7+ will adjust its map next time.

The i7+ is fully compatible with the iRobot Home app and can be operated remotely, without the need to be physically present. Through the app you can schedule cleaning sessions for specific rooms or set up virtual boundary lines to prevent it from certain areas. You can also see a Roomba's past cleaning history and determine its battery level.

The i7+ is considerably more expensive than the newer 981, but it has better performance on bare floors, a more spacious dustbin and the ability to automatically empty its dirt bin into a bigger built-in dirtbag in its charging dock. The iRobot is also more robust, has a longer battery life and charges quicker than the Shark. The i7+ also clears more debris from low-pile carpet and lets you set up virtual barrier lines with its iRobot Home app. The i7+ robot vacuum is not the best irobot roomba for pet owners or those with long hair. Its sweeping brushes occasionally get tangled up with hair, and you'll have to turn the i7+ around and scrub its moving bits on occasion which can get more than an a bit messy.

iRobot S9+

The iRobot S9+ or Baby Rocky as my three-year old refers to it, does an excellent job of cleaning floors that are bare. It removes a variety of types of debris and has the strongest suction we've ever tested in a commercial-grade robot. It's a luxurious feel and has an extended battery life, allowing it to sweep a large space without running out of power.

It uses iAdapt Navigation 3.0 with vSLAM to learn the layout of your home and create personal Smart Maps, which allows it to navigate effectively. Imprint Link technology is used to automatically clean after vacuuming. It's the first iRobot robot with an elongated body that allows it to get more closely to corners and edges than round robots such as the Neato Botvac D7.

We found the iRobot easier to use and more intuitive than its predecessors. It's compatible with voice commands using Alexa or Google Assistant, and it offers a variety of settings that are customizable, including the ability to alter its cleaning power. The iRobot app can also make an inventory of rooms you'd like it to clean. This is helpful when you need the robot to concentrate on a particular area.

The only issue we have with the S9 is that it could sometimes smack into things like toy strings and power cords. It's also loud during vacuuming, and it occasionally gets stuck on larger obstacles such as couch legs. It never lost power mid-clean and then returned to its dock to forcefully vacuum the dirt into a storage container. This self-docking and cleaning function is a major improvement from earlier iRobots that needed to be manually emptied after every use.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

With a mobile application and integration with Alexa and Google Assistant the process of starting a cleaning session on the Dreametech L10s Ultra is as easy as tapping your smartphone screen or giving a voice command. Physical control options on the robot are limited, with most functions available through the app, as well as a few buttons, including a quit button that requires the unit to leave its base station, and a clean button that initiates a general cleaning process.

The L10s Ultra robot vacuum and mopper is the only model in our list to provide a docking station that self-empty and self-refilling. This means that you can leave your robot alone for up to 60 days without having to empty the dust bag or fill the water tank.

The Dreametech L10s Ultra has some of most advanced AI features available in its class. It makes use of an RGB camera and 3D structured light to study your home's layout, customize cleaning strategies, and auto-generate paths based on flooring type, obstacles and room configurations. This reduces missed spots, repeated cleans, and frustration caused by getting lost or stuck.

Navigation and obstacle detection worked effectively in our tests with the robot being able to recognize thin chair legs and the like. It could get caught in socks or cables that are lying on the ground. Fortunately, this issue can be mitigated by turning off object recognition in the app.

Privacy is a concern for some people However, we didn't encounter any major issues with the Dreametech L10s Ultra's camera. The privacy policy of the company is very clear: they do not store any photos from your camera. You can disable the room recognition and object avoidance in the app, if you don't want these features enabled.

5. Eufy 11S

The Eufy 11S robotic vacuum is a basic model that collects fine dust as well as large debris from hard surfaces. It's ideal for everyday cleaning but it's not particularly effective at cleaning corners or edges. It is easy to use and comes with a variety of automated cleaning modes. However, it doesn't have an app, which means it's not able to set virtual barriers, track accessory life or review cleaning history. The 11S is a good option for those looking for an affordable, basic and stress-free robot.

The 11S is a tiny height of 7.2 cm, which means it fits under furniture with a low profile and can overtake doorsteps effortlessly. It also has large and sturdy wheels, meaning it can easily take on carpets and rugs with high pile. The dirt compartment is larger than other models, which means it will need to be emptied less frequently. The remote controls a variety of settings, including various modes of power and schedules that are automatic. The 11S also comes with a manual edge cleaning mode and a spot cleaner. The 11S can be tethered by a zip tie to its charging dock.
