We're all learning to adapt to a new, short-term normal in the course of the COVID-19 Pandemic. As I write this, I’m sitting in WordStream’s lovely new places of work in Boston’s Back Bay-a far cry from my usual writing habitat of my dwelling room in Providence, Rhode Island, the place I work more often than not (typically surrounded by my surly cat and canine, both of whom are wonderful coworkers). I’ve been with WordStream for quite a while now, and that is the primary time in over a 12 months I’ve made the journey into the office to catch up with everyone. This is because I suck, obviously. It may not necessarily be news or vital firm updates you’ll miss as a distant worker. Quick coffee or cigarette breaks with coworkers, long lunches on a Friday, or after-work drinks could also be what your new life as a telecommuter is missing (FYI, drinking a bottle of crimson wine alone in your kitchen while you email your boss doesn’t rely, except it’s Monday afternoon).
