Sattvic Bhava is divine Bhava. There are three kinds of Bhavas, viz., Sattvic Bhava, Rajasic Bhava and Tamasic Bhava according to the nature of the quality that predominates in man. Only know that all that exists in Maya or false perception, viz., evil, ugliness, misery, change, birth, decay, death, etc., are not in It. Man has no Bhoga-Svatantrata or the freedom to enjoy or suffer, which factor is governed by Karma. Ask the karma yoga question: How can I help? Maheswari continued with her Bhagavad Gita group and we had our regular Pranayama and Meditation practice, with Mayavan. A Meditation course started as well.


Om Namah Sivaya. In February we offered 5-6 yoga classes, one asana trial class and Meditation trial class. A trial class was offered online as well as in-person, with good number of participants, most of who proceeded to sign up for membership. Several courses started, Yoga 1 as well as a Raja Yoga Course with a good and inspired group of students. They underwent initiation by their course teachers, followed by their introduction to the gathering. The initiation ceremony for both courses began with the usual procession in the Ashram with Mantra chanting to visit the various shrines in the Ashram. Saraswati came back from the weekend Family Day holiday visit from the Yoga Camp Ashram. A few teachers arrived to the Centre for a short visit just to donate nice flowers for the altar. It is nice to see new teachers getting comfortable teaching online after going through the practice classes with the staff. Following good old yogic tradition we coped as best as we could, according to Swami Sivananda’s teaching to adapt, adjust and accommodate. He can substitute good Samskaras in place of the old vicious Samskaras by Vichara-sakti, will-power and continued practice of good actions. In early February Maheswari started an online Positive Thinking course with a group of students who all shared how important it was to them to connect at this time and keep spirits up. In early December the Adapted Sivananda Yoga Course and the Fasting Detoxification Program got off to a good start, with thirty one and eighteen participants respectively. This course was navigated by Chandrika, who arrived in Canada last week with no problems, and the final class was given live from Canada. The weekly Sunday Satsang was given on the topic of "How to Eradicate Hate" which was inspiring to all in attendance. A few new teachers joined the online teaching team, receiving weekly updates and tips about teaching online. The teaching of yoga is a vast culture of peace that nourishes the practitioner, who becomes aware of suffering, then uses that awareness to transform it into light or sattwa.
